An insurance campaigner says settlement developments are too vague to be good news

An insurance campaigner says settlement developments are too vague to be good news

Claims for the Canterbury quakes will now be split between insurance giant IAG and Crown body EQC.

However EQC Fix It Spokesperson Mel Bourke is disappointed the announcement is not completely "explicit" about how IAG will handle land claims.

She wants to see a clear statement that both land and residential claims will be managed by the private insurer.

An IAG spokesperson says an announcement earlier in the month was clear - land claims would be managed by private insurers.
