    Ray Liotta has died, aged 67

    The 'Goodfellas' star - who played mobster Henry Hill in 1990 Martin Scorsese flick - passed away in his sleep while in the Dominican Republic, the island he was shooting his new film 'Dangerous Waters' with the actress Saffron Burrows, Jennifer Craig told his representative told the Hollywood Reporter


    Ray - who was was born in Newark, New Jersey in 1954 - was abandoned at an orphanage before he was adopted at six-months-old by Marty and Alfred Liotta.

    His many credits include 'The Many Saints of Newark', the prequel movie to the David Chase-created show, the Sopranos', On turning down the role that was offered to him in the mobster HBO series, Ray said: "I didn't want to do another mafia thing, and I was shooting Hannibal. It just didn't feel right at the time.

    He also starred in 'Marriage Story', 'Field of Dreams' with Kevin Costner and 'Grand Theft Auto: Vice City'.

    The 'Wild Hogs' star leaves behind his daughter actress Karsen Liotta from his marriage to Michelle Grace and his fiance Jacy Nittolo, who was staying with him in the Caribbean.

    Rosanna Arquette paid tribute to her "friend back in the day."

    The 62-year-old actress tweeted: "I'm really sad to hear that Ray Liotta has passed away. He was a friend back in the day and it's very sad. We had a lot of laughs Rest In Peace My friend."

    His death is not being treated as suspicious.
