Victoria Beckham has joked she taught David Beckham "everything he knows" about football

The fashion designer - who celebrated her milestone 50th birthday on Wednesday (17.04.24) - has responded to her husband's birthday posts with a cheek quip after he shared a photo of her in a sports tracksuit

He captioned the photo on Instagram: "I love u @victoriabeckham. I knew she always loved football. (sic)"

She shared the same snap on her own page and teased: "Turns out I taught David everything he knows about the game!! (sic)"

The ironic post comes after the Spice Girls star has been very clear about her disinterest in football over the years, despite having first started dating the Manchester United legend back in 1997.

In their Netflix docu-series last year, she admitted: "I am not into football at all. I wasn't into football then [when we started dating], I'm not into football now.

'But I'd seen pictures of him in magazines, and he was obviously a very good-looking boy ... the fact I went to the games really was just to kind of, some would say 'stalk' him."

However, she has since insisted part of the problem was not feeling "wanted" at the games although that has changed since her husband retired and launched his own club Inter Miami.

Earlier this year, she told the Financial Times newspaper: "I never enjoyed watching football. I never felt necessarily wanted [at the matches].

"I'm not saying this as in, poor me, but it was never the fun that it is now. Now, when we're in Miami, I feel wanted. I'm friends with the families of the players."

Between the way the fans and club have welcomed her and David's entire family, and the arrival of legend Lionel Messi, Victoria has found herself enjoying the action more than she did in the opast.

She added: "All of a sudden, I found myself on the pitch. The club wanted pictures of the family and the trophy. And that was the first time a club had ever entertained the family as well.

"Since Messi turned up, the energy has gone to a whole other level. It's a whole other experience. It's fun."
