Diane Kruger showers with her daughter so she can teach her about beauty products

The 47-year-old actress has five-year-old Nova with partner Norman Reedus and though the little girl doesn't "quite understand" the concept of looking after her skin yet, the 'Troy' star is having fun showing her.

She told Britain's Grazia magazine: "It's really fun having a girl and showing her those things like sunscreen and moisturiser that she doesn't quite understand yet.

"I have this double shower and we sometimes shower together so she can learn about the everyday stuff."

Diane admitted her everyday routine with her daughter means she doesn't dress up as much as she used to.

She said: "I don't make the same effort I used to every day. It would be ridiculous to be in heels at the playground...

    "I take a less-is-more approach to make-up but I always wear a little bit.

"I never leave the house without filling in my brows. It frames my face and stops me looking washed out."

The 'Inglourious Basterds' star enjoys cooking for her family and plans their meals in order to minimise waste.

She said: "We're healthy, I'm always trying to be rational about what I buy and what we need.

    "I hate throwing away food."

Because of her hectic family life, Diane has learned to love travelling on her own, where she can snatch some peace and quiet.

She admitted: "Since becoming a mother, I've come to appreciate travelling alone.

"I revel in taking as little as possible.

"I look forward to sleeping on the plane, all I need is ear plugs and a great eye mask."
