Two men are on the run after a home invasion left one person injured in Auckland overnight

Police received reports two men armed with a gun had smashed their way into the Flat Bush address and seriously assaulted one of the occupants.

The men then allegedly stole a couple of items before fleeing Chianti Close.

Officers found a possibly linked vehicle a short time later, and it has since been towed for forensic examination.

The victim is in hospital with moderate injuries.
