The father who's two teenage children died in a dangerous driving crash, has escaped a prison sentence

The father who's two teenage children died in a dangerous driving crash, has escaped a prison sentence

Ghomer Dulay's wife and eldest child were also severely injured, when he lost control of his car and hit a tree, on the way to Canterbury's Mount Hutt, last August.

The 46-year-old's been sentenced to three months community detention, nine months supervision, and has lost his licence for a year.

Judge Mark Callaghan has decided prison or home detention would be inappropriate, given Dulay's mental health struggles.
