An expectation former captain Tim Southee will be used in the Black Caps' three test tour of India despite his poor form

The seam bowler produced just two wickets across 49 overs in the 2-nil test series loss to Sri Lanka.

Southee's taken 20 wickets at an average of 28.7 across five tests in India.

Selector Sam Wells expects Southee to play one or two of the tests, even in spin-friendly conditions.
