Confidence the country will reap the benefits of reforms to the emergency management system

Confidence the country will reap the benefits of reforms to the emergency management system

The Government's released a long term vision for the system over the next five years - which will see changes to the overall approach taken.

Local Government New Zealand is welcoming the announcement.

Spokesperson Rehette Stoltz says associated costs are always an issue, but every dollar invested will be worth it.

She says discussions about appropriate funding now, will save councils in the long run.
