The Swedish chain opened its first Kiwi branch in Auckland's Sylvia Park this morning - drawing a massive crowd, but causing less traffic congestion than anticipated
Forsyth Barr expects the retailer to generate more than 191-million dollars in sales - taking about six-percent of the market.
Retail Analyst Paul Koraua says IKEA immediately opening up nationwide distribution - is a strong move.
He says it doesn't usually do this - but it is capitalising on the excitement from Kiwis.
