The pace of supermarket supplier cost increases has eased slightly - but a small number of items are maintaining upwards pressure

Infometrics-Foodstuffs November Grocery Supplier Cost Index reveals a 2.4 percent average uptick in what suppliers charged, compared to the year prior.

Principal economist Brad Olsen says supply issues and high demand have beef and lamb costs on the rise.

He says this could change what makes it to people's tables this Christmas.

Olsen says there hasn't been nearly as much movement for the likes of pork and chicken - so there will potentially be a bit of adjustment when it comes to the summer BBQ this time around.
