Gordon Ramsay was a "hot mess" before making his father-of-the-bride speech at his daughter Holly Ramsay's wedding

The 59-year-old celebrity chef admitted it was a "tough gig", but he was delighted with his delivery on his 26-year-old daughter's big day, insisting the speech was "perfect".

Speaking about his big moment, Gordon said on This Morning: "It's tough, honestly.

"Being the dad with three daughters, you dream of that moment and that moment arrives and you're just like a hot mess.

"But the speech was perfect. It went well and you've got to find that ... You've got to be warm, emotional ... It's a tough gig."

Before the wedding, Gordon's daughter Tilly Ramsay, 24, spent time with her father to ensure his speech was spot on, and she revealed it "made everybody cry".

She said: "Honestly, I think it was Christmas Eve, I was sat in his room for an hour as he was just reading through it, [his speech].

"Going through everything but no tweaks were needed, it was perfect. It made everybody cry."

Holly and Olympic swimmer Adam married at Bath Abbey in in Bath, Somerset, south west England, on December 27th, and Tilly enjoyed seeing how happy the couple were at their nuptials.

She said: "It was so emotional but incredible to see her and Adam so happy.

"It was a big day for all of us!"

Gordon and Tilly also revealed Holly wore her mum Tana Ramsay's wedding dress as one of three bridal outfits on her big day.

He said: "Honestly it was a bit of a shock because she had it on for the majority of the night, before joking, 'I don't know why you need to change three times?' "

Tilly joked: "Let her do it Dad, it doesn't matter."

Gordon replied: "I know but three times? That's three times the bill..." Tilly clarified: "No, one was mum's."

The superstar chef may soon have another nuptials to fork out for, after he asked Tilly: "Would you wear mum's [dress]?"

She replied: "I would love to," and he joked: "You've got to get engaged."

Tilly then quipped: "Moving on Dad!"

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player
