Emergency services had to cut a person from a crashed car, following a fleeing driver incident in Northland last night

Emergency services had to cut a person from a crashed car, following a fleeing driver incident in Northland last night

Police signalled for the car to stop on State Highway 1 just before 8pm, because of the way it was being driven.

A brief pursuit was abandoned, and soon afterwards, the vehicle crashed on the southern side of the Brynderwyns.

Three people managed to get out themselves.

The person who had to be pulled out has moderate injuries.

Police haven't said whether anyone will be charged over the incident.
