The Government wants out of work New Zealanders to put up their hands for seasonal summer work

The Government wants out of work New Zealanders to put up their hands for seasonal summer work

It's offering unemployed Kiwis up to $200 a week for accommodation costs, and a one-thousand dollar payment for workers who complete jobs of six weeks, or longer.

Minister for Social Development Carmel Sepuloni says they're aiming to break down barriers that make seasonal work difficult.

She says transport, location, accommodation and paying conditions are all factors they've considered, and are working on.
