Footage from the night a man died in police custody is set to be revealed

Footage from the night a man died in police custody is set to be revealed

Three Hawera officers are on trial at the High Court in New Plymouth for the alleged manslaughter of Allan Ball in 2019.

The 55-year-old was found dead after being left in his cell - with alcohol, codeine and tramadol in his system.

The Crown says Ball should've been taken to hospital on arrival at the station, which was just five-minutes down the road.

Herald Reporter Belinda Feek says they're expecting audio and visual recordings tomorrow.

She says part of the Crown's key evidence is CCTV footage of the officers moving around and talking to each other.
