Unexpected event grades will help ease stress for students

Unexpected event grades will help ease stress for students

Education Minister Chris Hipkins today announced senior students in Level Three will return to school next Tuesday.

    NCEA exams will go ahead.

Students in Auckland, Waikato and Northland can receive an unexpected event grade - based on earlier school work - which can replace exam marks if needed.

Papatoetoe High School head boy Flo Akauola says it's helpful.

He says there are worries about whether exams will go ahead and how that will work - so the grade helps to ease some pressure.
