England have topped group C at the European football championships after a nil-all draw with Slovenia at Cologne

England have topped group C at the European football championships after a nil-all draw with Slovenia at Cologne

They had a goal disallowed in the first half after Phil Foden was deemed offside in the build-up.

Denmark are also through to the round of 16 stage after a nil-all draw with Serbia.

The 10th different tie-breaker was required to separate Denmark and Slovenia to determine who finished second in the group.

The two teams had identical records in almost every category - including yellow cards conceded.

Denmark prevailed by virtue of having a higher qualification ranking for the tournament.

If your head isn't spinning - Slovenia are guaranteed passage as one of the four best third-placed finishers.
