Interest rates are continuing to fall, but house prices are yet to rise

Interest rates are continuing to fall, but house prices are yet to rise

Economists expect the Reserve Bank to slash the Official Cash Rate by 25 to 50 basis points at its next review on Wednesday.

Latest figures from CoreLogic show house values have dropped for seven months in a row.

Chief Property Economist Kelvin Davidson says lower mortgage rates are boosting market sentiment, but that's yet to flow through to prices.

He says while new borrowers get lower rates, it takes longer to kick in for those already borrowing.
