A Dunedin-based rugby player has been banned for four years, effective from June 10, after admitting to the purchase of performance-enhancing drugs

A Dunedin-based rugby player has been banned for four years, effective from June 10, after admitting to the purchase of performance-enhancing drugs

The penalty came after New Zealand Customs intercepted a package addressed to Carlin Wilkinson-Ballantine in February that was found to contain the prohibited clenbuterol and tamoxifen.

The player admitted buying clenbuterol, but denied purchasing tamoxifen.
