Harrison Ford insisted on filming a scene shirtless for the Apple TV+ series 'Shrinking' to make it seem realistic

The 'Indiana Jones' star hit 82 in July, but showed he wasn't shy to show his body while shooting the psychiatrist comedy drama

Its co-creator Bill Lawrence told the Writers Guild Awards in New York City on Saturday (15.02.25): "My favourite story I always tell people, because we were doing a shaving scene the other day, the first time (Harrison) had to do a shaving scene on the show, he called me up and he's like, 'I'm not going to shoot this.' "

The showrunner said he was confused and asked: "Why not?"

According to Lawrence, Harrison replied: "If I'm shaving, I have to be shirtless."

Bill continued: "And I'm like, 'All right. You can be shirtless. What else do you need?'

"He goes, 'Just 10 minutes to do some push-ups'."

Bill was accompanied at the event by his wife, Christa Miller, 59, who also stars in 'Shrinking' alongside Harrison.

Christa added her co-star "looked good" in the shaving scene.

Bill added Harrison "shamed" him with his body, before joking: "I work on set shirtless now. Just trying to go head-to-head."

'Shrinking' was co-created by Bill, Jason Segel, 44, and Brett Goldstein, 43, and the show follows grieving therapist Jimmy Laird (played by Jason), who adopts an unorthodox approach to therapy where he gets hands-on in patients' lives in the real world.

Harrison plays gruff D. Paul Rhoades, a senior therapist working at the same therapy centre as Jason's character.

The series premiered on Apple TV+ in January 2023, with its second season airing from October to December 2024. Harrison's character explores his journey with Parkinson's disease in the second season and the show was renewed for a third season in October 2024.

Speaking to People about its second season, Harrison said he was taking his character's journey "deadly f****** seriously" despite the show's comedic elements.

He said: "There's no intention to make it into a joke. But there are people that absorb these kinds of experiences with grace and courage and a little bit of wisdom. And that is not to say that some people do not."
