Shifts are happening in the medical workforce- as we start to see more diversity and growth

The New Zealand Medical Council latest workforce survey, shows practising doctors increased by 2.6-percent this year - reaching more than 20-thousand.
Women now make up almost 50-percent of the medical workforce, and are projected to outnumber men by mid-next-year.
Maori doctors account for more than five-percent of the workforce, and Pacific doctors make up 2.7-percent.
Almost half of both Maori and Pacific doctors are under 35.
