Jeff Goldblum has his own Jurassic Park waxwork at home

The Hollywood star says the lifelike figure is surprisingly popular with visitors, even becoming a family favourite.

Jeff Goldblum has his own Jurassic Park waxwork at home. The 72-year-old actor admitted the lifelike figure - which depicts his mathematician character Dr. Ian Malcolm from the 1993 classic - is popular with his friends and family, and it's inspired by a memorable shirtless scene from the film. Speaking to Radio Times magazine, he said: "I have a very funny and very interesting memento - a wax figure of me that was used in the Jurassic Park exhibition that travelled around the world. "At one point, I said, 'Hey, if you're retiring that, could I buy it?' I have it in my garage and people like to come and take pictures with it." And Jeff's kids - sons Charlie, nine, and River, seven, with wife Emilie Livingston - also enjoy having the model around. He added: "The kids have seen the movies and they've taken pictures with the statue. They enjoy it." The lifesize statue recreates the moment Ian Malcolm lies back on a table with his shirt unbuttoned after being injured during a dinosaur attack, which has since become one of the movie's most iconic moments. In 2020, the actor insisted the pose wasn't actually in the script, but rather the product of his character being "hot and bothered". He told the Independent at the time: "It's supposed to be Costa Rica, right? So things are hot and I'm sure I was feverish and it was a very intense scene. "I guess the fever was from the dinosaur bite, and so I'm sure I was just trying to cool off. "I'm sure I was hot and bothered, and I didn't want to take my shirt off, but... I don't know, it just happened." The waxwork was first created by Madame Tussauds for a 25th anniversary exhibition in London in 2018, before finding a new home in Jeff's garage.
