Blues coach Vern Cotter is intrigued by the idea of cross-hemisphere rugby clubs swapping players

It comes as midfielder Pita Ahki is back with the Blues after seven seasons with Toulouse in France, while Rieko Ioane plays out his sabbatical season in Ireland.

Cotter appreciates world cups and contracts pose challenges to the swap-deals but says players could benefit from new experiences, without leaving a hole in their home club's squad.
