    Football Ferns midfielder Emma Pijnenburg has joined the Wellington Phoenix in the A-League

    Football Ferns midfielder Emma Pijnenburg has joined the Wellington Phoenix in the A-League


    The 21-year-old has signed as a replacement for the injured Alyssa Whinham .

    Pijnenburg spent three years with Dutch club Feyenoord Rotterdam but her contract was up at the end of the season.

    When she heard Phoenix coach Bev Priestman was interested, she sought a release.



    The Phoenix play away tomorrow night against Western Sydney.

    The men visit Melbourne Victory tonight.
