Ashley Park dec lares crocheting as her personal Roman Empire

The star of Netflix's Emily in Paris - of which season five was shot in the Italian capital - adores her "nerdy" hobby so much, she has already begun her little gifts for the cast.

Ashley - who plays titular Emily Cooper's (Lily Collins') best friend Mindy Chen - told People: "I just finished an emotional-support succulent for Lily [Collins] that I was going to give to her at the beginning of press.

"And I just, I'm already thinking about, I've already started mini projects for everybody. So currently, it's that. It's a little nerdy, but that is so cute."

In an appearance on Good Morning America on December 8, Ashley, 34, revealed she had been crocheting for Lily's 10-month-old daughter, Tove, whom Lily has with her 42-year-old husband, director Charlie McDowell.

Ashley joked that her hobby could lead her to start a business on the e-commerce website Etsy - where people sell unique items they have made.

The star also gifted 50-year-old actress Drew Barrymore a "beautiful" crochet coaster, which featured daisies, during a recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show.

Season five of Emily in Paris sees Emily move to Rome to open an outpost for the marketing agency Agence Grateau and to spend more time with her Italian boyfriend, the owner of luxury cashmere brand Umberto Muratori, Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini).

However, Emily does return to the French capital later in the series.

And before it dropped on Netflix on December 18, Ashley and Lily opened up about their off-screen friendship.

Ashley told People: "My favourite thing is this adult relationship or friendship ... we came into each other's lives where neither of us needed anything from each other.

"And we still don't. We could go weeks or minutes without talking. But I know that if I ever really need somebody or something - and even if I don't even know how to ask for it - she's always there to offer. And vice versa."

Lily added: "Ashley is the only person I know that when she feels something, I feel it, and that can be excitement and happiness, and that can be anger, that can be sorrow.

"And I can even get it from a text message, or her songs or anything. I've just never had that. There's this empathy between the two of us that from day one was so connective."
