Northlanders may have to wait until Wednesday until access to all roads is restored following flooding in its North Eastern area

Northlanders may have to wait until Wednesday until access to all roads is restored following flooding in its North Eastern area

Almost 300 millimetres of rain hit the region between midnight Saturday and 6am yesterday.

Civil Defence says it heard of three people who evacuated from their home because of landslips.

Emergency Minister Mark Mitchell says about 300 people camping in the area have been looked after by various agencies.

MetService Forecaster Samkelo Magwala says the Northland region is set to get more rain but it won't be as serious.
