Charli xcx doesn't want to have children

The 33-year-old singer has revealed that the prospect of starting a family with her husband George Daniel is not something that appeals to her at present - although her views "could change" in the future.

Charli told Smartless podcast: "I actually don't really want to have kids.

"I love the fantasy of having a child. Like, naming it sounds so fun. But I'm like, that is exactly a sign to me as to why I should not have one. The fact that that feels like the coolest part of it, I'm like, 'Maybe I'm not ready.'"

Meanwhile, the Apple hitmaker revealed that her upbringing as an only child left her unprepared for situations of "conflict".

Charli said: "I don't have any siblings. I actually think not having siblings actually means that you miss out on a lot of conflict, and I mean that in, actually, a bad way. I think my friends that have siblings are so much better at conflict, as in, they don't kind of, amplify into this huge dramatic thing.

"They're able to move through it a lot more quickly than I am because they know how to diffuse it."

The Brat artist explained that the only people she clashed with growing up were her parents - the "figures of authority" in her life.

Charli explained: "The clash feels far more drastic. There isn't a sibling to, kind of, just diffuse it a bit and make it less of a big deal. So it feels really gigantic."

The star has recorded the soundtrack to Margot Robbie's much-anticipated new movie Wuthering Heights and revealed that she would be "open" to performing a James Bond theme, although she believes her use of AutoTune will not appeal to 007 bosses.

She told Julia Cunningham on her SiriusXM show: "I got to say, I don't think that I am built for that.

"I think I probably sing with too much AutoTune to do a James Bond. Never say never. I'm open to it if they want to call me, which they won't but, yeah. I think it might not be a fit, but that's, well, yeah. It's not going to happen now, is it? So amazing. I don't know."
