A man has died suddenly at Auckland's Mt Eden Corrections Facility after returning from court

A man has died suddenly at Auckland's Mt Eden Corrections Facility after returning from court

He was brought back in an escort van just after 3pm, and staff later found him unresponsive in his own cell inside the vehicle.

Corrections say there's nothing to suggest the death is suspicious.

The case has been referred to the Coroner, and the independent Corrections Inspectorate will also investigate.
