    A sharemarket expert says a drop in global dairy prices was somewhat expected

    It comes amid growing fears following the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus in China.

    Overall, prices at Fonterra's latest overnight auction are down 4.7 percent on a fortnight ago.

    JMI Wealth Director Andrew Kelleher says they're putting it down to a sentiment-driven sell off.

    He says market weakness was expected.
