Principals are calling for a drop in university entry requirements because of Covid-19 disruptions to learning

Principals are calling for a drop in university entry requirements because of Covid-19 disruptions to learning

Those supporting the move say some students may struggle to qualify after the eight-week hiatus.

Porirua's Aotea College Principal, Kate Gainsford, says tertiary institutions need to be aware students have lost a significant amount of learning time.

She says the old High School Certificate was quite a loose arrangement, so it's possible for flexible criteria to work.
