The Warriors hope to bolster their forwards stocks with an international representative.

The club's in talks with Tongan prop Ben Murdoch-Masila to bring him to the NRL this season.

Murdoch-Masila's already signed with the Warriors for 2021, but is with Warrington in the UK Super League.

Warriors coach Stephen Kearney says the early move is something Murdoch-Masila is keen on.

Chiefs halfback Brad Weber says it's been odd holding preseason at the start of winter.

Super Rugby Aotearoa will kick off on June 13, with all five New Zealand franchises currently in camp.

Weber says some players have been very amped.
