    Severe weather in the North Island is causing headaches for motorists


    State Highway 25 between Tairua and Hikuai is closed, and is expected to remain so for a few hours, due to surface flooding.

    New Zealand Transport Agency Waikato System Manager, Cara Lauder is asking drivers in Tairua to take extra care.

    She suggests motorists in Tairua, should wait until the flooding has cleared.

    State Highway 2, Opotiki to Gisborne was reduced to one lane at Waioeka Gorge after a slip, but has since reopened.
