Manawatu dairy farmer Andrew Hoggard is the new president of Federated Farmers

Manawatu dairy farmer Andrew Hoggard is the new president of Federated Farmers

Hoggard replaces retiring leader Katie Milne.

The federation's vice president for the past three years was a shoe-in for the anchor role and farmers voted him in today at the federation's annual meeting.

Wairarapa farmer Karen Williams finishes her term as Arable Industry Group chairwoman to take on the vice president role.

Chief executive Terry Copeland says the group has strong representation at board level.
