The Funeral Directors Association welcomes a review to give grieving families more rights when funerals go wrong

The Funeral Directors Association welcomes a review to give grieving families more rights when funerals go wrong

High-profile mistakes include Christchurch mother Michelle Bishop chasing a funeral home because her daughter wasn't embalmed properly.

Association CEO David Moger says new entrants with no qualifications or standards, are entering the industry.

He says literally anyone can sign a form, set up a Facebook account, buy a car and be in business.

Moger says they won't give a meaningful farewell.

The Health Ministry review closes at end of month.
