Iggy Azalea has split from Playboi Carti

The 30-year-old rapper has confirmed her break-up via Instagram, revealing she'll be raising her four-month-old son Onyx "alone"

She wrote on Instagram Story: "You lost a real 1 People take loyalty for granted & that’s why I’d rather be alone. (sic)"

Iggy - who began dating the rap star in late 2018 - later clarified her original post, confirming that she and Playboi have gone their separate ways.

The chart-topping rapper - who has previously dated the likes of A$AP Rocky and basketball player Nick Young - said: "What I meant last night was that I’m raising my son alone & I’m not in a relationship. (sic)"

Iggy became a worldwide star following the success of 'Fancy', her hit collaboration with Charli XCX.

And she's previously admitted that she never anticipated achieving so much fame or success.

Iggy - who released the track in 2014 - confessed: "I really only expected having an underground career.

"I remember Charli and I were on the 'Today Show' or 'Good Morning America', one of those shows that prior to that we had no business being on. We were like, 'What the f*** are we doing here?' We loved that we were there."

Iggy also admitted that she initially struggled to cope with criticism of her music.

She explained: "It’s hard to separate trolling from legitimate criticism.

"When you get thrown into the deep end, you have a natural inclination as a human to defend your character. There were times, in retrospect, where I was way too defensive ... where there was so much coming from every direction that I just didn’t have the ability to pick through what was valid and what wasn’t."
