Mike Theelen will hold the reins for another five years at Queenstown Lakes District Council

Mike Theelen will hold the reins for another five years at Queenstown Lakes District Council

The council has confirmed the current CEO's reappointment several weeks after a meeting behind closed doors.

Mayor Jim Boult says he will bring strong leadership at a time of uncertainty in the community.

He says Mike Theelen has created a high performing management team with a can-do culture that the council needs in good times and bad.

An outside agency carried out the recruitment process.
