Auckland Mayor Phil Goff's looking forward to saying goodbye to 2020

Auckland Mayor Phil Goff's looking forward to saying goodbye to 2020

The council's facing a billion dollar fiscal hole over the next four years and is proposing a one-off rates rise of five percent for the next financial year, due to Covid-19.

Goff is spending the holidays with family.

He says he'll do some swimming, fishing, reading, and will relax and have a red wine or two or three.

Goff wants to put an end to a year marked by Covid-19, and is looking forward to a year that will be better for everyone.
