    One of the new pieces of the Wellington Phoenix's defensive puzzle can see a clear picture forming ahead of the start of their A-League season


    Australian age-grade representative Josh Laws is likely to partner veteran Luke DeVere in the centre back position, while the returning James McGarry is a chance to feature out wide.

    Laws says the pre-season games have been valuable for their defence.



    The Phoenix open their campaign against Sydney FC tomorrow.
