New Zealand's Covid cases has risen by 70 - and almost 30 thousand people have been identified as individual contacts

New Zealand's Covid cases has risen by 70 - and almost 30 thousand people have been identified as individual contacts

Health officials says, so far, only 76 per cent of those contacts have had a test.

All the new cases are in Auckland ...taking the total this outbreak to 347.

Nineteen people are in hospital - one in ICU.

A positive case worked two shifts while unknowingly infectious on a dementia ward at Warkworth resthome.

They are fully vaccinated and wore PPE.

A new wastewater sample in Christchurch has returned a positive result - but that again could be in line with cases in MIQ.

Yesterday just over 90 thousand covid jabs were administered - the highest daily total so far.
