People in and out of Auckland will be hoping for a drop in its alert levels in time for the school holidays

People in and out of Auckland will be hoping for a drop in its alert levels in time for the school holidays

Many regional flights transit through the main city.

However, if Auckland remains in Alert Level 3 or higher, customers will no longer be able to travel.

October 1 is the last day of the third term.

Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa marketing manager Shane Adcock says it's concerning they could miss out on a lot of travellers if the levels don't change.

He says the school holidays are generally a busy time for the town so there's hope the alert levels will fall in their favour.
