Local residents are describing a bus crash in Lower Hutt as shocking

Local residents are describing a bus crash in Lower Hutt as shocking

A passenger bus smashed through a fence in in-front of two homes on Knights Road just before 11 o'clock.

Five people are being treated for injuries and the driver is also receiving care - who's thought to have experienced a medical event

Nearby resident David Wilson says all he heard was a loud crash and bang.

He says at first he thought it was rubbish truck, but then he realised it much louder.

Another resident, Tony Cook, helped get the passengers out of the bus.

He says a couple of woman looked to be injured and the driver was clearly in shock.
