Hawke's Bay is edging closer to the 90 percent double jabbed mark

Hawke's Bay is edging closer to the 90 percent double jabbed mark

The region is just 192 doses short of the milestone.

When it does cross the line, it will be the 12th District Health Board to do so.

It comes as 96 first doses were administered in the country yesterday, alongside 740 second doses, eight third primary doses and 903 booster shots.

The Ministry of Health says the lower vaccination numbers reflect Boxing Day falling on a Sunday, so many centres were closed.

New Zealand has 34 new community cases today - in Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes and Canterbury.
