    A pleasant surprise for Fonterra at how much dairy prices have risen at the latest Global Dairy Trade auction


    Overall prices are up 4.6 percent.

    The all-important Whole Milk Powder price is up 5.6 percent, with skim milk powder not far behind.

    Fonterra CEO, Miles Hurrell, says the size of the increase took him by surprise, but shows the international market's aware of the dry conditions in New Zealand.
