A positive sign for Kiwi orchards

A positive sign for Kiwi orchards

Businesses at the Top of the South are experiencing interest from seasonal workers, rise to levels last seen before Covid.

Thomas Brothers Orchards logistics manager Steve Thomas says availability of workers has dramatically improved since October last year.

He says people are applying rapidly for jobs - seemingly at a level similar to 2019.

Immigration NZ granted more than five thousand Registered Seasonal visas over the recent summer, and say nine and a half thousand are currently in the country.
