A man's been bitten by a police dog while being arrested following a fleeing driver incident in Otago

A man's been bitten by a police dog while being arrested following a fleeing driver incident in Otago

Dunedin Police senior sergeant Anthony Bond says the man was live streaming himself driving at 165 kilometres an hour between Dunedin and Oamaru last night.

He crashed into multiple vehicles including a Police vehicle, before being spiked south of Waihola.

Bond says the driver was arrested by a dog unit but continued to resist, and was bitten as a result.

He was treated at Dunedin Hospital, and is due in court this morning.
