    Hopes the Black Caps can seize on a six-match stretch in the sub-continent to improve on their current third ranking in the World Test Championship


    New Zealand can pick up points away against Sri Lanka and India over the next two months.

    Preceding that is a one-off maiden test against Afghanistan which begins in Greater Noida near Delhi from 4.30pm, although rain is forecast amid temperatures in the low 30s.
