    The Haka World Record attempt is being celebrated as a commemoration of togetherness and culture


    The Guinness World Record official confirmed six thousand - 531 people performed Ka Mate at Auckland's Eden Park last evening.

    It smashed the previous record of just over four-thousand set by France 10 years ago.

    Organiser and musician Dame Hinewehi Mohi, says it was overwhelming.

    She says it is difficult to capture the feeling in the moment when so many New Zealanders come together.
