More than 14-thousand people have reported feeling a 4-point-9 magnitude quake east of Picton - just before 4pm

GeoNet says the tremor caused moderate shaking, with a depth of 35 kilometres.
It says the quake may have been felt in the upper South Island and lower North Island.
