    American basketballer Kevin Braswell - involved in several New Zealand franchise triumphs as a coach and player - has died aged 46 due to complications from heart surgery in Japan


    Braswell played in championship-winning campaigns for the Breakers and Southland Sharks in the 2010s, before coaching the Wellington Saints to back-to-back NBL titles in 2016 and 2017.

    He returned to mentor the Breakers in the 2018-19 season, before a stint with the Auckland Huskies in 2020.
