Wellington's Mayor has hit back at disparaging comments from the Prime Minister today about the city's Council

Wellington's Mayor has hit back at disparaging comments from the Prime Minister today about the city's Council

Chris Luxon told a post-budget business breakfast the Capital needs less political ideology, and more commonsense.

Luxon went further talking to Nick Mills, saying the Council should take responsibility for the problems it's created, and sort them out.

Tory Whanau was not happy: she wrote into our Newsroom, saying perhaps Luxon should look at his own policy choices.

She cited the recent decision to slash pay for women on low incomes, and called the school lunch programme disastrous.

Whanau says Wellington needs solutions and collaboration from the Prime Minister, not rhetoric designed to distract from his own failings.
