    Two people are in hospital with critical injuries after an assault at Auckland's Pakuranga night markets earlier this evening


    Police received reports of the incident on Aylesbury Street at around 6.45.

    Hato Hone St John sent seven vehicles and took two people in a critical condition to Middlemore hospital.

    An eyewitness said at one stage, exit from the market were closed off and photos show patches of blood on concrete in the market.

    Police are still looking for the alleged offender, but say initial enquiries suggest it's an isolated incident and there is believed to no further risk to the public.
